DeltaARTS exhibits Marion student works
DeltaARTS DeltaARTS hosted its annual Marion Student Art Exhibit on Tuesday, March 14, when more than 30 student artists and their families were welcomed to the DeltaARTS Glenn P.
Schoettle Arts Education Center.
The exhibit, which gives student artists a chance to see their art hung in a professional art gallery and to experience an authentic art opening, involved Marion Intermediate and Marion Middle Schools. Attendees enjoyed cupcakes donated by Brownie Eyed Baker and lemonade.
“We are so pleased to be able to honor and recognize student artists and in our new gallery,” Amelia Barton, DeltaARTS Executive Director, says.
“Pride in and praise for the artists filled the air at the opening reception for parents, friends, and school administrators.”
Courtney Sharp and Lisa Proffitt, the art teachers from Marion Intermediate and Marion Middle, respectively, attended the opening, as well as Marion School District Superintendent, Don Johnston. Ms. Sharp and Ms. Proffitt selected the pieces for the exhibit from art projects students created throughout the school year.
The students' artwork will be on display at the DeltaARTS Schoettle Center Gallery through Thursday, March 30.
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m., closed Fridays.
