Ordination ceremony set for West Memphis woman

Toney to be ordained this weekend

www.theeveningtime.com Ordination services are scheduled for Mary Meux Toney on Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church, 70 North Bellevue, Memphis. Toney was granted Ordination in November 2016 by the Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Tennessee Region.

She received her Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary in May 2016 and is presently persuing her Doctor of Ministry at Memphis Theological Seminary.

Toney is a native West Memphian who graduated from Wonder High School. She is a founding member of the Board of Trustees for Mid-South Community College and presently serves as a member of the Board of Visitors for Arkansas State University Mid-South. Along with trustee duties, Toney has also been a student and an adjunct instructor at Mid-South. She also serves on several other boards in the community.

In 2016, Mary was awarded Alumnus of the year by Arkansas State University Mid-South, something she never expected, but said she is appreciative of the honor and proud to represent ASU Mid-South in a positive manner. Her goal is to continue helping the community through ASU Mid-South. She hopes to disseminate what she has learned from the Christian Church Disciples of Christ and the Seminary into the community.

Toney states she is proud to be a part of Crittenden County, the place she calls home.

She is the Worship Leader for the Church Health Chapel in the newly renovated Sears Crosstown Concourse in Memphis.

Toney is the proud mother of four children, one deceased, seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
