The 15th Annual Regional Senior Citizens Day was held Aug. 2, 2017 at Southland Park Gaming and Racing Starting Gate Event Center, honoring more than 250 seniors from Crittenden and surrounding counties. Life Enrichment and Development, Inc.

(LEAD), in partnership with Southland Park Gaming and Racing (SPGR), was supported by more than 30 vendors from senior centers and other organizations, as well as local dignitaries, and superstars to salute our honored guests with great fun, food, prizes, and other heartfelt gestures.

This year’s theme was “Seniors in Action – This is Our Lucky Day”. Our seniors participated in yoga activities directed by Mrs. Panzy Anthony and were also engaged in safety and self defense techniques designed for seniors by Master Dennis Brewer, Sr. and his assistants. There was even a special treat from one of our Veterans who surprised his mom by asking her to dance!

A special thanks to Southland Park Gaming and Racing’s catering staff for providing outstanding food and superb service. We would also like to acknowledge all facilities who took the charge to ensure that our honored guests arrived and returned to their destinations safely. Many thanks as well to all vendors for displaying and explaining your products and services, as well as, for your dedication to work in any capacity necessary to accommodate our seniors.
