Blue Devils open season on the green

Senior Carlson Bennage led West Memphis with score of 45

WM School District The West Memphis golf team played its home opener Thursday at Meadowbrook Country Club, hosting Wynne and Marion in a triangular match.

The Blue Devils were led in scoring by senior Carlson Bennage, who fired a nine-hole score of 45, followed by sophomore Tyler Dory with a 53, Charlie Boozer with a 54, Trevor Pulliam with a 55, Hayden Roeder with a 58 and Gavin Carlson with a 65.

Marion's Jacob Kohl was the match medalist with a 39 while Gavin Truitt fired a 42, Grayson Rash and Colton Ashley each had a 43 and Zach Harper had a 44.

Wynne's charge was led by Kip Patterson with a 41. Other Yellowjacket scores included Benton Baskins with a 42, Hogan Marsh and Kaden Baskins with 43 each and Jackson Marsh with a 45.

In girls play, West Memphis' Kolby Garey shot 63, Marion's Emma Fraley shot 54, Marion's Shelby Thompson had a 58 and Wynne girls scores included Maggie Miller with a 49, Chloe Smith with a 53, Emma Cate Casbeer with a 57 and Emma Miller with a 61.

The Blue Devils will be in action again on Aug. 30 at Wynne.
