R.S. “Bob” Cosgrove of West Memphis, Arkansas, age 87, filed his last claim on Aug. 8, 2019. He was a Forrest City High School Hall of Fame athlete, a starting tailback for the Arkansas Razorbacks,

veteran.

His life’s passion and joy was his work. He felt that it was his calling to care for others in his community through his 60 years of service as Crittenden County premier State Farm insurance agent.

Among his awards, too numerous to mention, are 42 years in the Million Dollar Club as a top 1% producer worldwide.

He was among the founding members of EastArk Enterprises (The Sheltered Workshop), and served on its board of directors continuously for 47 years.

He was a long time member of the West Memphis Boy’s Club board of directors, and was a West Memphis City Councilman. He also served as a member and supporter of many other community boards.

His beautiful tenor voice was well known throughout the community as he sang in church choirs and local events, and he particularly enjoyed his time with the Memphis Opera Chorus. He loved classical music, was an avid fisherman and handyman, and could never pass up a garage sale or a thrift store.

He is survived by his wife Linda; four sons, Rob, Rich, David, and Jim Cosgrove, to whom he passed his incredible gift of sarcasm; three step-children Todd (deceased) and Scott Padgett, and Sheila Johnson; fourteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
