Galvan (5’9”, 155 lbs.) is the all-time leading scorer in the history of both his high school and district, scoring over 1,000 points in both his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, he was the third-highest scorer in 6A, Texas’ highest division, after finishing second in Lone Star State 6A scoring as a junior.

A four-year letterman for the Raiders, Galvan averaged 26.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game while shooting 40 percent from the three-point line and 80 percent from the free throw line as a senior for Head Coach Jaime Gongora.

PSJA North finished the year with a 28-10 overall record and went 12-2 in 6A District 30 before dropping a 51-49 decision in Bi-District play. He was named the 6A District 30 Most Valuable Player, The Monitor news organization’s All-Area Player of the Year for the second year in a row, and to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 6A Region IV All-Region First Team.

As a junior, Galvan was named his district’s Offensive MVP and The Monitor All-Area Player of the Year after averaging 28.6 points per game, giving him the area’s highest scoring season since 1997.

He was also named District Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and played travel ball with the Rio Grande Vipers organization.

Galvan joins six recruits and a solid core of returnees as the Greyhounds lost only three sophomores from last season’s 22-9 team that won the program’s third NJCAA Region 2 Championship in a row.
