Run Across the Mississippi River in the Big River Crossing Half-Marathon & 5K. It’s time to start training for one of the coolest and most unique races in the area: The Big River Half-Marathon & 5K. Both races begin at Tom Lee Park, but will take runners in two different directions. The 5K will direct runners through Downtown Memphis, and the half-marathon will bring runners down Riverside Drive, and then over Big River Crossing through the Big River Trail, a 7-mile paved path through the Arkansas floodplains with beautiful riverside views. Sunday, Nov 2, — 5K starts at 8 a.m.; half-marathon starts at 8:30 a.m. 5K Early Bird registration $25 (Rates go up after Aug. 31).
