The Earle Music Coterie was chartered in 1922 and has been meeting regularly since then.

Officers are, Rev. Tony Wells, president, Sue Ann Elms, secretary, accompanist, Jane Speed, Rev.

Wells, choral director and Janis Lancaster is secretary. The meeting was at the Earle Baptist Church.

Rev. Wells led the reading of the clut collect.

Mary Jo Staggs told th story of the song, “Oh, Susanna”

singing.

Janis Lancaster was in charge of the poetry moment. She read “Getting Through” by B.W. Speed taken from his book “Pondering Thoughts”.

A total of 15 members were present. Co-hosts were Vickey Wells and Anga Turner.

Sue Ann Elms was in charge of the program performed by Lana and Allen Ampueda and Alex Turner. Lana was soloist, Allen played the violin and Alex was organist. The title of the program was “Highlights

Year.”

Songs included, Behold a Virgin Bearing Him, Christmas Hymn, We Bring Our Gifts to Your Altar, Love One Another Help Me Lord, Were You There, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Let the Holy Anthem Rise, There’s A Wideness in God’s Mercy and Com To Me.

The Happy Hour Club met at the First United Methodist Church at Morrison Fellowship Hall recently where they enjoyed a potluck

The tables were decorated for fall and Halloween.

Becky Knapp presided as president. Rev. Tony Wells gave the devotional on friendship.

The group sang, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” led by Rev. Wells and accompanied by Jane Speed.

Rev. and Mrs. Wells were congratulated for their October anniversary of 32 years. Others present were, Jimmie Barham, Doris Gately, Dot McKinney, Adria Roberts, Faye Thompson, Sue Dorman and Sue Ann Elms.

• Pastor Appreciation & Homecoming — Earle Baptist Church was the setting for a special service and luncheon held last Sunday. Pastor appreciation and homecoming was combined.

Guest speaker was, Rev.

Ikshan Lasmanto of Cordova, TN. His wife, Eni and sons, Shalom and Rapha also attended. Rev. Lasmanto and his sons say a medley of songs accompanied on the guitar by their father.

Rev. Tony Wells, pastor, was presented with a gift.

A total of 44 people were present.

• Comings & Goings —

Ellen and Sam Holloway were in Blue Springs, Mississippi, recently where they visited in the home of Frank and Bernie Mask.

• Gone Cruisin’ — Ruth and Bobby Guy, Crissy and Tyler Carmichael of Earle, Susie and Mike Root of Marion enjoyed a week long cruise recently.

They spent some time in Slidell, Louisiana; New Orleans; Key West, Florida; and the Bahama Islands.
