The Avondale Ladies’ Auxiliary will be conducting its annual auction, Monday, Oct. 21 at 1001 Balfour, West Memphis. Everyone is welcome

• Crittenden County NAACP Meeting — The Crittenden County chapter of the NAACP has invited West Memphis Mayor Marco Mc-Clendon as well as Assistant Police Chief Robert Langston to its next regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 21, beginning at 6 p.m. The meeting will be hld at 812 E. Broadway. The public is invited.

• Hullabaloo 2019 — Marion United Methodist Church presents Hullabaloo, on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 81 Old Military Rd., in Marion. Games, petting zoo, facepainting, silent auction, concessions, arts & crafts, and more.

Barbecue butts ($30), chicken halves ($6) and pork loin ($20) sales are on sale now.

• ‘A Night of Hope, Faith & Courage’ — There will be a breast cancer awareness event and fundraiser for Stephenie Hamlet, who is currently fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, on Saturday, Oct. 26, beginning at 5 p.m. at the L.R. Jackson Youth Activity Center, 405 South 25th St.

The event is called “A Night of Hope Faith and Courage: Celebrating Conquering Breast Cancer.” There will be vendors, as well as a speaker from Baptist Cancer Center.

com Tickets are $5. There will be free food, local talent and information about breast caner. Proceeds will benefit Stephenie Hamlet in her cost for medical expenses.

• Medical Resource Seminar — A special community event is set for Friday, Nov.

8, hosted by PremierChoice In-Home Care, 302 Main St., Hughes. The event will be a community resource and information program for medical services. The public is invited to the event which begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until 1 p.m. The event wil be held at the Eastgate Apartment Community Room. • Civil Air Patrol — Civil Air Patrol meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the ASU Aviation Technical Center, 737 Taxiway Drive, in West Memphis. • Families in Transition —

provides support groups for victims of domestic violence as well as teen dating violence. We also provide “Safe Dates” Adolescent Dating Abuse Prevention Curriculum to schools, youth groups and any organization focusing on youth ages 12 and up. All services are provided free of charge through State and Federal funding.

• Global Academy USDA Food Program — Global Academy, Inc., located at 301 N. 7th St., in West Memphis, is participating in the USDA Food Program. Meals will be available at no charge or at a reduced rate to enrolled persons at the above location.

Eligibility is determined by income and household size.

• Bethel AME Community Grant Program — Larry Banks, pastor of the Bethel AME Church, 2304 E. Barton Ave., was recently awarded the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant for the 2019-2020 school year by the U.S. Department of Education. Applications are now being accepted for a maximum of 100 students to participate in the program that will be held at Maddux Elementary School, 2100 E.

Barton Ave. Once the 100 positions are filled, all others will be placed on a standby list. Applications for children in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 may be picked up at Bethel AME Church or at Maddux Elementary School during back to school registration.

The program director is Sheri Lowe and the site coordinator is Karmen McNutt.
