Evadean Shempert was honored for her 88th birthday with a luncheon and party held at the home of Kay and Ricky Rogers March 1.

Family members attending were Brenda and Ray Shempert of Wynne, Kelly and Jim Shempert of Marion.

Grandchildren included Cassie and Kenneth Moore, Katie and Oscar Solis of Wynne, Lauren and Matt Rogers, Sara and Shaw Turner of Marion.

Great-grandchildren enjoying the special occasion were Shelby, Kasen, Preslee, Haven, Harrison and Hayes Moore. Eden and Beckham Solis.

*** The Happy Hour Club met at the First United Methodist Church Morrison Fellowship Hall March 7 where they enjoyed a luncheon.

The tables were covered with green cloths and decorated with a variety of shamrocks on St. Patrick’s day sacks, green and white carnations and hats.

Becky Knapp, president, presided. Others present were Frank Saig, Ken Lancaster, Janis Lancaster, Allison Bird, Jane Speed, J.W. Ellis, Tommy Dunn, Doris Gately, Gean Allensworth, Laura Pritchard, Christine Littlejohn and door prize winners Carolyn Slaughter, Sue Dorman and Sue Ann Elms.

The group sang “Close To Thee” led by Rev. Tony Wells. Rev. Wells also gave the devotional and told about The Ides of March.

*** The Men’s Coffee and Prayer Group met at the Earle Baptist Church Feb. 24. They enjoyed a breakfast casserole.

Those attending were Bob Baker, Ken Lancaster, Rev. Bill Watt, Doug Manchester, Elbert Person, Edmon F. Davis, Bill Rogers, Bob Philyaw and Mark Philyaw.

The group meets at 9 a.m. every Wednesday and visitors are welcome.

*** Eugene Barham of Dallas, Texas spent last weekend in the home of his mother Jimmie Barham.

*** Donna and Bobby Litttlejohn of West Memphis, Lisa Carter and daughter Abby of Fayetteville were visitors in the home of Christine Littlejohn recently.
