• Steudlein Learning Center 4th Annual Fish Fry – Friday, March 18, 5 to 7 p.m. Drive-Thru Only. 1600 Avondale Circle, West Memphis. $12 includes fish, French fries, hushpuppies, slaw and homemade dessert. To purchase tickets call 7339950. Must present ticket. Proceeds to benefit Steudlein students.

• Annual Robert Stewart Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, March 19 at the Crittenden County Girls and Boys Club, Worthington Park, West Memphis. For all children ages 1 to 10 years old. Anyone wishing to participate in this years hunt, contact Pam Coulter at the Evening Times, 870-735-1010.

• Regenerating Earle Through Empowerment Projects Meeting – Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m. at Dollye H. Jones Administration Building, 1401 Third St., Earle. This meeting will provide information to eligible applicants concerning Housing Preservation Programs to benefit low income rural residents.

• Woolfolk Public Library Annual Easter Party – Saturday, March 19 from 10 until 11:30 a.m. at the library at 100 N. Currie St., Marion. Games, crafts and an Easter egg hunt for children of all ages. Participants will need to bring their own baskets. No rain date. For information call the library at 739-3238.

• West Memphis Easter Trash Collection Schedule – Observing the Good Friday Holiday on Friday, March 25. Regular Monday and Tuesday customers will be serviced on Monday, March 21. Regular Wednesday customers will be serviced on Tuesday, March 22. Regular Thursday customers will be serviced Wednesday, March 23. Regular Friday customers will be serviced Thursday, March 24. No service on Friday, March 25. The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, March 28.

First Community Bank of Eastern Arkansas, 205 Block Street, Marion is currently selling Easter Baskets with various themes to choose from; Bake Sale March 25 beginning at 9 a.m.; and pictures with the Easter Bunny 2-5 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Make-AWish.

• Legal Aid of Arkansas Board of Directors Meeting

– Saturday, March 26 at 9 a.m. at the Durand Center at North Arkansas College, Community First Bank Partners Room, 1515 Pioneer Dr., Harrison AR.

• Car Wash – Saturday, March 26 at Fire Station #1 on Military Road, Marion from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. benefiting the Marion Animal Shelter and MARS.

• Crittenden County Retired Teachers – On April 14, the Crittenden County Retired Teachers Association will meet in the Marion School District Administration Office at 200 Manor in Marion for their final meeting of this school year. New CCRTAofficers will be installed, WMHS scholarship winners will be announced and present, our Apples for the Teachers Project will be finalized, and Woody Wheeless will be the guest speaker.

• Arkansas State University Degree Center – Offering admission, advising, and scholarship information/assistance for students interested in attending Arkansas State University-Jonesboro on the ASU Mid-South campus. Students can major in Criminology, Business, Nursing, or Education and live locally. West Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization – Is soliciting public comments concerning the upcoming FY 2017 Unified Planning Work Program. If you have comments or questions concerning the transportation planning process call 870-735-8148 or fax 870-735-8158 or e-mail BCE@sbcglobal.net. This document may be reviewed at the MPO’s web site at wmats.org and the following locations: West Memphis City Hall, 205 S. Redding, West Memphis or Marion City Hall, 14 Military Rd., Marion.

Crittenden County Democratic Party Central Committee – County Convention will be Monday, March 28 at 6 p.m. at Arkansas State University-Mid South, room 104 in West Memphis. The main purpose the County Convention is electing three members to serve as our representatives on the State Committee. New State Committee members will take office beginning in August and will serve for a term of two years. This convention will also serves as our regular March meeting.

UAPB Lion Fever Day (College Fair, campus tours, scholarships) – will be held on April 1, 2016 in Pine Bluff. The UAPB Crittenden County Alumni Chapter will provide transportation to Pine Bluff.
