WM robbery leads to chase into Memphis

Police have two robbery suspects in custody after a chase led the pair from West Memphis across the Mississippi River with West Memphis Police in pursuit.

According to reports, just before 9 p.m. Tuesday night, the suspects robbed the Dollar Tree at the Holiday Plaza off Missouri Street. Shortly after, the suspect vehicle was spotted by police, who ran the plate, discovering the car was stolen.

As police attempted a pullover and tried to stop the car, the suspects then fled across the I-40 Bridge into Memphis.

West Memphis officers then notified the Memphis Police they were following the suspects into the city.

Just after crossing the Hernando Desoto Bridge in to Memphis, the suspects wrecked out after crashing into another car on I-40 at the Riverside exit.

Ambulances were called to the scene but no significant injuries were reported.
