Freshman Terrandus Smith scored a game-high 31 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds as ASU Mid-South pulled ahead in the second half to edge Northwest Mississippi Community College 80-76 in a thriller Thursday at The Dog House.

In a game that featured nine ties and nine lead changes, the Greyhounds battled to a 34-34 tie at the half before pulling ahead with a 10-2 run late in the second half behind Smith's 20 second-half points.

However, the Generals would not go down without a fight. Down 73-63 with two minutes remaining, Northwest Mississippi would hit three threepointers to pull within 7674 with 14 seconds remaining. But the Greyhounds got the ball to Smith down the stretch as he finished the game with four straight free throws to seal the victory.

Avenging an 83-70 loss at Senatobia, Mississippi, in November, the Greyhounds flipped the script from their last matchup and owned a 60-35 rebound advantage, including 29 offensive rebounds led by Smith and their big men.

Forwards Trevor Banks finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, Chris Smith collected nine points and nine rebounds, and K.J. Patrick chipped in four points and eight rebounds.

Jerrick Cole scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting, and while not the 37-12 free throw advantage enjoyed by the Generals in November, the Greyhounds helped themselves with a 33-23 advantage at the free throw line, shooting 78.8% and led by Smith's epic 21of-23 effort.

The Greyhounds then took a road trip to Blue Mountain College on Monday, where the squad continued their winning ways. ASU Mid-South had its way with the BMC JV team, scoring almost at will to take home a 85-47 win.

Tomorrow night, it’s a quest for win number five in a row and lucky number 13 on the season as West Kentucky CTC makes their way into the Dog House, with a 6 p.m. tipoff time.
