Budweiser Clydesdales set for Esperanza Bonanza

World famous horses coming to Marion festival

ralphhardin@gmail.com The world-famous, eighthorse Budweiser Clydesdale team are hitching up and heading to Marion for a special appearance at the Esperanza Bonanza Festival next month.

Esperanza Bonanza 2017 will take place at the Marion Sports Complex fairgrounds from Wednesday, May 10 through Saturday, May 13. The Clydesdales will be a highlight of the festival Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser Clydesdales make hundreds of appearances each year. The Clydesdales are an American icon and one of the world’s most recognized corporate symbols.

“We are very excited to be able to bring in the Clydesdales,” said Joanie Taylor with Esperanza Bonanza.

“This is going to be a great deal for Marion and the community.”

To qualify for a spot on the hitch, a Clydesdale must be a gelding of at least four years of age, stand 72 inches or taller at the shoulder when fully mature, weigh between 1,800 and 2,300 pounds, have a bay coat, a blaze of white on the face, four white legs, and a black mane and tail.

The horses, also known as the “Gentle Giants,” will be available for photos at the festival.
