Main Street’s Holiday Arts offers great gift ideas

The Main Street West Memphis Holiday Arts Pop-Up Shop is back on Broadway and it’s an all new production. Vendor booths are set up to shop the wares of local artists and craftsmen on weekends before Christmas at the Wonder City Building, 113 E. Broadway.

The Chamber of Commerce is set to hold their Business after Hours reception at Pop-Up locale on Monday, Nov. 20, to kick the Christmas shopping season off from 5 to 7 p.m.

“This will be bigger than the one we had last year,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Holmes Hammett. “We’ll certainly have more than 100 people come through here. ”

The grand opening event in conjunction with the chamber will bring out some holiday shoppers to make some of their first gift purchases from the vendors on hand. Paintings on canvas, glass and barn fresh wood covered in Christmas colors and slogans will be staged all around the room.

Gift ideas on display will range from small jewelry items and soaps to large paintings.

The specialty shop pops up this time each year to give a retail opportunity to local artists.

Guests at the kick-off will enjoy a catered buffet complete with Christmas cookies and candy and hors d’oeurvres.

“After this Thanksgiving week, the shop will be open Thursdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. leading up to Christmas Eve and all the Saturdays in December before Christmas, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.,” said Abernathy.
