‘Best Care’ training offered

Marion, Trumann to host one-day child care clinics

If you provide care to young children and would like to learn more about researched based information on ways to educate and care for young children, you may be interested in upcoming training opportunities such as Best Care.

“Sometimes it's a struggle to find quality resources close to home and are affordable,” said Meredith Wayman, Family and Consumer Science Agent for the Crittenden County Extension Office. “The University of Arkansas, Cooperative Extension Service, in partnership with the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE) will offer 10 hours of professional development training for educators or caregivers of young children in this area.”

Best Care training will be held on the following dates: Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Trumann Sports Complex, 16179 Pecan Grove Rd., in Trumann.

Saturday, March 3, Immanuel Baptist Church, 1714 Hwy. 77, in Marion.

Topics will include: Family Style Eating, Breastfeeding, Time Wasters, Is it Candy or Poison?, Child Abuse and Neglect, Classroom Behavior Management, Money on the Bookshelf, Avoiding Burnout, Sensory Play, and Love Languages for Children Both sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a short lunch break.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
