news@theeveningtimes.com

For the second time in just a few days, West Memphis police are investigating another shooting, this time at the Steeplechase Apartments near Interstate 40 and Ingram Boulevard.

The overnight shooting left at least one person injured. The victim, condition was unknown as of this morning, was taken to a Memphis hospital.

Police officers combed the area in search of the shooter and began interviewing residents in hopes of figuring out exactly what happened. Early reports indicate that the shooting was the result of a domestic issue.

This latest shooting comes just days after a 15-year-old girl was shot and killed on the streets of West Memphis sparking calls for an end to the violence.

Police are still looking for the suspect in that murder.

Within the last few weeks, West Memphis police have investigated four shootings in the city, including an 81year-old grandmother a week ago today on South 16th Street.

Anyone with information on any of these recent shootings is asked to call Crittenden County Crime Stoppers at 870-732-4444.
