Bulldogs snap losing streak, beat Carlisle 36-20

Earle ready to take on England in 1st round of playoffs

After a disappointing eight points in their last contest, Earle made sure to put some points up on the board against Carlisle on Friday. Earle had enough points to win and then some against Carlisle, taking their matchup 36-20.

It took a quarter to shake off the cobwebs, but after zero first-quarter points, the Earle offense picked up 14 points in the second quarter. Carlisle matched them to leave it all tied up at 14-14. The offense for Earle put that tie to bed by coming up with 22 points in the second half to win the game.

Earle’s win brought them up to 7-3. The loss dropped Carlisle’s record to 4-5-1.

After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the regular season behind to test themselves against in the Class 2A state tournament. Earle and England go head-to-head this week at 7 p.m. PM in their first playoff match of the year. The Bulldogs will be strutting in after a victory while Lions will be stumbling in from a defeat. As for Carlisle, they will go up against Magazine in their first round playoff matchup.
