Letter to the Editor

I am ashamed of our President, Congress, and military hierarchy for abandoning the nation of Afghanistan fighting for its freedom.

We paid a great price to free a nation of people for a few years. The greatest price was paid by Americans who lost family members and friends in this great tragedy.

We were right to attack after 911. We were right to free people. We were wrong to not allow our military to kill and destroy every Taliban and zealot we could find. We were wrong not to use our immense technology and talented fighters to destroy every vestige of the enemy.

We were and always will be wrong to negotiate with terrorists, dictators, and despots.

Now, because of a lack of political will and gravitas to win a war, we will be attacked, again. The fight will come to our shore like a tidal wave crashing violently onto our shores. Why?

Because we have gutless and spineless politicians and military leaders who can do nothing but blame others for their complete and total failures.

America is in trouble with the leaders we have in both parties.

Lord help us.

Lord help those we abandoned to terror and death in

Afghanistan.
