The Black Knights yielded 20 points in each of the two opening quarters to the Deer Creek Academy Warriors but found the resolve under new head coach Rease Gairhan to shutout the visitors starting unit in the second half.

Fumbles, errant snaps, missed onside kicks, and penalties paralyzed the the home team during the during the first half. The Warriors produced long scoring plays running away for the Black Knights defenders during the first half. On the opening kickoff, the Warrior kicker dribbled a bouncing ball eleven yard toward the visitors bench and visitors took the loose ball to go on offense. Two big twenty-yard running plays and an offside penalty on the Black Knights produced the first score for the visitors. A false start on the offense nullified the two point addition.
