Betty White showed us that age does not mean you can’t keep participating.

She has such a long resume of films and television performances but one I enjoyed was her time on the soap opera Bold and Beautiful at the relatively young age of about 87.

This show had no aversion to older actors with Phyllis Diller appearing at 95.

Life has become complicated, concerning, and frustrating over the last few years, but we should look to the examples from Betty White on how to live life to the full. [ Editor’s Note: I really only knew Betty White as the dingy old lady on “ Golden Girls,” which I did not watch… as a kid, I wasn’t really the target audience… as an adult, there is way too much other TV to be watching 30- yearold sit- coms. But I understand she was talented and a very beloved person, so she will be missed, and I’m a little bummed she was so close to 100 but didn’t quite make it. I remember when comedian George Burns turned 100. Buens played God in an old movie ( with John Denver of all people) called “ Oh God” back when I was a kid, so for a long time, he was who I pictured when I pictured God… I guess until Morgan Freeman played God in “ Bruce Almighty” with Jim Carrey and took over the role in my head. Anyway, ole George just barely made it to 100 and was still working a limited schedule at age 99. Pretty cool! ]

*** There are a lot of sick people in the world, and I am not just referring to those with COVID but rather those that have obtained test kits and are now selling them for extravagant prices. There are also those that are probably selling fake tests too.

This is a time when we want to see the best of people and it is so apparent in our medical workers, but we all need to be our best by getting those vaccinations, staying safe by wearing masks and isolating if we have too.

Let’s make 2022 a great

came back- to- back within two hours from each other from a very strange looking phone number with too many digits, which suggests it came from outside the country, but I can’t be sure. Maybe I somehow got on some weird “ mailing list” or something? Or maybe it came from an alternate universe… either way, there are a lot of people doing a lot of shady things concerning COVID19, from fake vaccination cards to selling negative tests to stealing relief money through fraud, and I don’t think a new year is going to change the fact that there are awful people in this world…]
