out for this scam that is going around on Facebook in a lot of the neighborhood groups… “So this girl made a post on Ask Morrilton. It was a long post about her and her son that was a preemie leaving her abusive husband and how her mother paid for bus tickets for her to get to Morrilton to live with her.

Said they have been on a bus for 3 1/2

days and she has no money and her son is hungry. She said that people were rude and not wanting to help her on the bus. So I offered to send her a little money for him to eat….

Something just told me I needed to do it. I’ve NEVER sent anyone money like this before. I’ve helped people with giving food, clothes, etc…..It wasn’t much, but I was hoping it would help and get him some food. I sent her money through cash app and it wasn’t a couple minutes later her post was gone. So I either was made a fool or it was taken down.

You live and you learn why do I have such a big heart?” So watch out for this person. Whoever it is. She has started making post on other towns pages too so it’s de_nitely a SCAM!!!

[Editor’s Note: Just goes to show that if there is a way to do it, people will try anything to scam kindhearted people out of their money.

The worst part is that these kinds of social media pages and Facebook groups can and do a lot of good but it makes it harder to commit to helping someone when you see this type of thing happening. And online, they can really go above and beyond to rip people off with fake emails and fake text messages and, as in this case, fake social media pro_les. I saw something the other day in either the Marion or West Memphis friends and neighbors Facebook group where someone was either selling or renting a house, and with people so desperate these days to _nd available housing, it would be very easy to think it was a legit offer and give up some sort of deposit or even just your personal information on an application and BOOM, all of your data is compromised. Be aware, folks. Be very aware…] I see Senator Ingram is not running for re-election.

Is he retiring or is he going to run for a higher of_ce?

He will be missed. I don’t know if anyone will be able to immediately _ll his shoes and represent us in Little Rock. [Editor’s Note: It is a very interesting situation.

It was my initial understanding that he was simply ready to step down and out of politics. Being a Democrat in Arkansas is pretty tough these days. I suppose he could have his eyes on Congressman Rick Crawford’s seat, but I don’t know. State Rep. Monte Hodges is eyeing that seat already.

And I don’t think he would challenge U.S. Sen. John Boozman either. As for who might _ll his seat, former Turrell Mayor Dorothy Cooper plans to run for the position. I haven’t heard of any other candidates, but there’s still plenty of time to throw one’s hat in the ring. I thought maybe Woody Wheeless might be a candidate, but he’s already said he was running for re-election as County Judge. For a mid-term election cycle, there are suddenly a lot of races that will be worth keeping an eye on this election season]
