All of these people quitting the city of West Memphis is not a good sign. When the city engineer and city clerk are raising concerns and no one is saying why or what it’s got to be some fire where there is smoke.

Like the saying goes, if you lay down with the dogs you are going to get fleas.

[ Editor’s Note: If you look at any municipal entity, you are going to see good people leave to take better jobs. It happens all the time, and you see the same thing in the world of business, sports, education, finance and most competitive industries. Having said that, there does seem to be a bit of an exodus happening within the ranks of the West Memphis city government. It could just be a cyclical changing of the guard, which happens from time to time, it might be related to the upcoming election, or, as you theorize, there could be something untoward happening in the city, and if that is the case, sooner or later, it will come out. It always comes out. In the meantime, if you’re dissatisfied with the way the city is being run, I would direct you to the upcoming election, just a few weeks away, and make your objections known there]
