Recreational marijuana will be on the ballot in November. I know there are a lot of people who hear the words WEED or DOPE or POT and all theycan think about are the bad things but marijuana can be used for a lot of good. A lot of people smoke (or take edibles) for pain relief, anxiety, depression or other conditions. In many cases it can be better than a prescription medicine and most of all can be cheaper.

All I ask is to consider all of these things and vote your conscience! [ Editor’s Note: I will say that I am very interested to see how this vote goes ( assuming, of course, that the Supreme Court doesn’t swoop in at the 11th hour and declare that the ballot measure is too ambiguous or whatever and decides not to let the votes be countes… which I fully expect them to do). I do have to say, though, that your whole argument is based on all of the medicinal and health benefits of marijuana, and medical marijuana is already legal in Arkansas. This ballot issue will be to decriminalize and regulate recreational marijuana. In other words, it would place marijuana

of use category as tobacco and alcohol — that is, legal to use by certain people under very specific guidelines. I just want to make sure everyone understands this won’t create some kind of world where everyone can just grow their own pot plants in their backyard, roll up a joint and spark it.

Nor can you just have a massive stash and toke up to your hearts content. But yes, indeed vote your conscience on this one…]
