And if you want to support the shelter but don’t have a place in your home for a four-legged addition, you can participate via a special fundraiser for the Marion Animal Shelter on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Angel’s Way Baptist Church, 801 Angel’s Way Dr., in Marion, featuring a classic car show for the community. Check-in at 8 a.m., with the judging from 9 a.m. until noon. Winners announced at 2 p.m. Prizes for best engine, best in show, categories for cars and trucks, and a 50/50 raffle. $20 entry for contestants.
