‘Tis the season to spread the spirit of giving

WEST MEMPHIS — On Monday, November 21, provided 200 turkey certificates to five local charities for those in need for the Thanksgiving season.

The five local charities receiving the turkey certificate donations from Southland Casino Hotel were Hope House Ministries of West Memphis, Hughes Christian Outreach Ministries of Hughes, Good Neighbor Love Center of West Memphis, 8th Street Mission for Jesus Christ of West Memphis, and the West Memphis office of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections.

Kim Gibbs of the Hope House Ministries stated, “This means we’ll be able to serve more people than normal, because we have extra. We will brighten the holiday for those that did not have turkeys right now.”

Southland president and general manager, Osi Imomoh said, “Giving to others is what the holidays are about and Southland Casino is happy to seize every opportunity to help its community.”
