Duncan attends Texas A&M Spend the Night with Corps gathering

Cadet Senior Airman Madeline Duncan was selected to attend the annual Texas A& M Spend the with the Corps. The popular Spend the Night with the Corps (SNWC) program offers academically quali_ed high school juniors and seniors and transfer students a unique, _rst-hand experience of Corps and student life at Texas A& M. During the program Cadet Duncan met with current cadets and learned about their experiences in the Corps, hear from key staff about Corps experience, learn about advantages to joining the Corps and have the chance to visit with the Aggie Band director to talk about the world-famous Fightin” Texas Aggie Band.

There were presentations from different ROTC cadets talking about what they did and requirements to be accepted. After the presentations there was drill training. Everyone participated in a midnight yell then in the

morning attended a football game.

Cadet Duncan has been a member of the unit since May 2022. She has earned the Major General John F. Curry Award, General of the Air Force Hap Arnold Award, Colonel Mary Fiek Award, and the Crisis Service Award. As one of the cadet program benefits, she got an orientation flight in an airplane and flew the plane. The cadet program offers a chance for those who want to become a pilot to earn the pilot certificate and Civil Air Patrol pays for it. Cadets interested in the military can get advance promotion if they enlist in the military.

The 99th Composite Squadron meets on the first 3 Monday nights at the ASU Aviation Technical Center at 409 Taxiway in West Memphis from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
