The kids in 4th grade at Marion Science and Technology recently took it upon themselves to raise donations for the City of Marion Animal Shelter and the animals themselves went to pick up the donations. The kids had a blast getting to know and learn about all of the animals including “Sly” a ball python.

Carla Richardson of the Shelter had this to say “Mitchel, Silly, Tank and Sissy were the main stars of the show at MST Elementary School. Tagging along were Gemma the puppy and Guppy the kitten as well as Sly the ball python. Gemma got to tag along as a last hoorah before she goes to a rescue. Guppy the kitten made sure the dogs behaved. Sly just knew he was too cool to not be there.

The kids had a bunch of fun giving all their love to these homeless dogs. They seem to of had an equally fun time gathering so many donations for them before they came as well! There was a lot of great things donated such as dog food, cat food, dog toys, cat toys, blankets and towels, collars and leashes and so many more little things! Every single item means the world to us and these fur babies.

These dogs haven’t had a day out in awhile and they bene_ted from being out and about, meeting new people and getting all the affection their hearts can handle. They had so much fun and got a lot of hugs with a side of belly rubs and many compliments. These precious pooches hope they made a mark on someone’s heart today to get exposure to be one

step closer to being adopted. They were all on their best behavior and hope that it got someone out there thinking about taking them home forever. A huge thank you to everyone who donated to these lovely future family members! They said it was the best _eld trip ever!”
