noon that it plans to close the I-55 and Crump Boulevard Interchange to begin the next phase of a long-in-theworks project at the busy thoroughjfare.
“This is in accordance with the noted contract to make road improvements to the roadway as outlined in the plans,” said Cody Pratt, project manager for Bell Construction, the winning bidder for the massive project which will require the closure of the I55 bridge several times over the next three years. “The north entrance of the French Fort neighborhood will still be accessible for local traffic and emergency vehicles by taking west bound Crump and crossing over into south bound I-55.
If you’re making plans to go into Memphis or DeSoto County, Mississippi over the next weekend (not this weekend) take note.
Bell said, “We plan to close the interchange completely from Friday, June 9th at 8:00 p.m., and open the interchange on Monday, June 12th at 6:00 a.m.”
If weather delays the closure, it will take place the following weekend on June 16-19.
