Back to School Bash West Memphis Police Community Outreach, the Crittenden County Boys & Girls Club and the Junior Auxiliary of Crittenden County are holding a Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Boys & Girls Club, 990 N. Missouri St. in West Memphis, featuring free backpacks, school supplies and haircuts.

There will be vendors on site, food and fun, with music by DJ Rod. A schoolage child must be present to receive the free backpack.

Junior Firefighter Day The West Memphis Fire Department is hosting a special Junior Firefighter Day, Friday, July 21, at Station No. 1, 200 N. 7th St., beginning at 9 a.m., for youths ages 14-18. Splash on the Square 2 The Moms of Marion are bringing back Splash on the Square for another round, Saturday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. until noon.

Tornado Siren Testing The West Memphis Office of Emergency Management will conduct periodic tests of the city’s tornado siren warning system on Saturdays at noon. These sirens are located at: Tilden Rodgers Park, the J.W. Rich Girls Club, South Avalon at the VFW, 10th Street at Jackson, Goodwin at Garden Drive and MLK Drive at Beatty. MARS Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic MARS of Crittenden County will hold two more low-cost spay/neuter clinics in 2023: June 14-15, and October 3-5.
