Body recovered from Mississippi River
Memphis Police Dept., Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office investigating death

The shores of the Mississippi River were home to a grisly scene over the weekend as a body was recovered from the murky waters.
According to the Memphis Police Department, human remaons were found on Saturday afternoon on the Arkansas side of the river near the Hernando DeSoto Bridge.
Memphis police are assisting the Crittenden County Sheriff's Department in the investigation.
The body was found south of West Memphis across from President's Island.
At this time, the identity of the individual has not been released. There is no information on a possible cause of death or whether the case is being treated as a homicide, suicide or accidental death.
