‘I am a champion of transparency, inclusion, fairness, and trust,’ says Lane

Patricia Lane is running for Quorum Court Justice of the Peace for District 4. She has been a citizen of West Memphis for over 30 years, a homeowner, and is highly invested in the community.

Married to Karl Lane Sr. for more than 42 years, they have five children and 14 grandchildren. Currently holding the position as Senior Deputy City Clerk for the City of West Memphis, she also served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant NCOIC assigned to the 47th Aerial Port Squadron Special Handling Division during Operation Desert Shield/Storm Iraqi War until her retirement in 1996.

Lane spent 14 years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Crittenden County’s CASA Program, advocating for neglected and abused children within the Foster Care/DHS system in the county courts.

She holds a Certified Arkansas Municipal Clerk Certification and is working towards her Master Municipal Clerk through the International Municipal Clerks Association.

A member of the Arkansas Municipal League Advisory Committee, Lane believes her knowledge of Municipal Laws and experience within the City of West Memphis will enable her to make informed decisions for the citizens of Crittenden County.

As a person of possibility and hope, Lane aims to work towards making Crittenden County better for all its residents. She believes that through community development initiatives, such as affordable housing, reduced crime, and improved access to healthcare and education, the county can thrive and provide a sense of belonging to all its residents.

Lane believes that we must continue to work cohesively together across the board to achieve the American Dream for all people, that community development provides that foundation for which a city builds off to improve the lives of its citizens. It will improve the quality of life and promote sustainability. Revitalization of a community is important because it contributes to human development and ensures that communities can develop socially and economically and give citizens the opportunity to thrive and a since of belonging.

She says that a “Stronger community will increase revenue that can be used to pay for the expansion of classrooms that will improve education, reduce crime, create healthier communities, and give our citizens a since of pride. I am running for Justice of the Peace for District 4 Quorum Court because I have the proven experience and knowledge in the position as the Senior Deputy City Clerk for the City of West Memphis.”

With over 16 years of experience managing finances and budgets in both the public and private sectors, Lane is dedicated to serving the citizens of Crittenden County with transparency, inclusion, fairness, and trust. She strongly advocates for inviting all voices to the table to ensure everyone feels heard and represented.

“I am a champion of transparency, inclusion, fairness, and trust for all the people.” says Patricia, “I strongly believe we must invite everyone to the table so that we are all represented in order for everyone to feel heard.”

Early voting began on Feb. 20.
