The West Memphis Animal Shelter is gearing up for a big adoption and fundraising event on Saturday, March 23 from 10a.m. until 2p.m. at the West Memphis Tractor Supply. The shelter is calling on the community to come out and support their efforts to find loving homes for their furry residents.

The event will feature Pet Picasso kits for sale, photos with the Easter Bunny for a donation (pets and children welcome), and FREE microchipping for West Memphis residents. Additionally, there will be a variety of adoptable pets on site, all of whom are eagerly awaiting their fur-ever homes.

Adoptions and donations are dearly needed to help the shelter continue their important work of caring for homeless animals in the area. By attending the event and opening your heart and home to a new furry friend, you can make a difference in the lives of these animals.

If you are not able to adopt a full-time pet, there is always the Foster program option. The foster program places animals with temporary homes for usually two weeks to a month until a “forever home” can be found. Many end up adopting the animal in question, but that is completely by choice. The shelter provides everything needed to the foster family during the animal’s stay including crates, bedding, food, etc.
