An unseasonably cold day didn’t keep the crowd away this past Saturday for the Moms of Marion’s Crittenden County Color Run this past Saturday at the Marion Courthouse with a little help from the Marion Advertising & Promotions Commission.

Enthusiastic participants showed up and wore white (or at least how they started) and made laps around the courthouse square being doused in all sorts of colored powder with each lap, creating a rainbow/tie-dye effect.

The fun didn’t stop there as there were free snow cones, a bouncy house, party music, information booths, and plenty of food trucks.

“Even in the cold, we had fun,” said Lisa O’Neal, one of the Moms of Marion. “We had around 300 folks.”

Each color was thrown by a different local organization: The Marion Police Department had blue, Cry-Leike Realty had red, Victory Church tossed orange, Anytime Fitness was the provider of purple, Farm Bureau had the green powder and Junior Auxiliary doused runners in pink. Farm Bureau kept everyone hydrated with water bottles and Right Fiber hosted a photo booth.

Fun on the run … the color run, that is.

And they’re off…

All the colors of the wind.
