Man struck, killed on I-40

AWest Memphis man died after he was struck by two vehicles, including a semi-truck. Arkansas State Police reported the incident happened at 11:52 p.m. last Wednesday, April 17, on Interstate 40 at the 279 mile marker in Crittenden County.

John Henry Powell, 67, was crossing the interstate from the north when he was struck by an eastbound 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup truck. ASP said an eastbound 2020 Mack tractor-trailer then hit Powell. Powell was pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges were filed.
