Spelling Bee

West Memphis Christian School held its annual Spelling Bee on Tuesday, Jan. 12. The Bee included students from the 1st grade class through the 8th grade class. An intense final round crowned Thomas Goldsby (above, right), a 7th grader, the 2016 Spelling Bee Champion. Anna Grace Russell, an 8th grader, earned the 2nd place nod, and Tiffany Carroll, a 6th grader, came in 3rd place. All the contestants received a well-deserved applause and accolades for their participation in the Bee. The top 10 spellers from the Bee will move on to the District Spelling Bee hosted By St. Michael’s Catholic School. Additionally, the top speller from grades 4th through 8th will move on to the MAIS District Spelling Bee in Drew, Mississippi.
