In Crittenden County, candidates wishing to run in the Democratic Primary for Justice of the Peace, Constable, Democratic Central Committee member or County Representative for the special Democratic State Convention to elect National Delegates may file at the DRED Building, located at 1750 E.

Broadway, in West Memphis. The filing period will last from Monday, Nov. 4, to Tuesday, Nov.

12, at noon. Office hours are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

County Representatives will play an important role in the 2020 Delegate Selection process. The individuals selected to be County Representatives will attend a special Democratic State Convention on May 30, 2020, in Little Rock.

There, these County Representatives will elect the delegates that Arkansas will send to the National Convention.

The West Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will hold a Joint MPO Policy and Technical Coordinating Committee meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m, at West Memphis City Hall, 205 S.

Redding St., West Memphis.

V.F.W. Post 5225 and Commander Elvin Tate are inviting the public to the V.F.W.

Civil Air Patrol meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the ASU Aviation Technical Center, 737 Taxiway Drive, in West Memphis. provides support groups for victims of domestic violence as well as teen dating violence. We also provide “Safe Dates” Adolescent Dating Abuse Prevention Curriculum to schools, youth groups and any organization focusing on youth ages 12 and up. • West Memphis Lions Club — The West Memphis Lions Club holds their meetings every first Tuesday and third Tuesday of each month at Shoney’s at noon.

• Global Academy USDA Food Program — Global Academy, Inc., located at 301 N. 7th St., in West Memphis, is participating in the USDA Food Program. Meals will be available at no charge or at a reduced rate to enrolled persons at the above location.
