Christmas on the Square, Thursday, Dec.

5, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Crittenden County Courthouse Square, featuring the Christmas tree lighting, visits with Sants, Christmas music, a kids’ train ride, food and craft vendors, the Courthouse Square Snowman Display, and a Christmas Wish Tree. Annual Christmas Parade, this year’s theme is “Christmas Train.”

Thursday, Dec. 12 (Rain date Tuesday, Dec. 17), beginning at 6:30 p.m. The parade will begin on Block Street and end at the Courthouse. Be a part of the celebration by visiting MarionARChamber.org, or by calling (870) 739-6041 for more information.

The City of West Memphis will be holding a Special Bond Election on Tuesday Dec. 10. The polling locations will be as follows: Early Voting now through Dec. 9 (no weekend voting), from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m., at West Memphis City Hall (not the County Court House).

Election Day, polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the following polling locations: West Memphis City Hall, 7th Street Church of Christ, Calvary Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Church, Pilgrim’s Rest Church, West Memphis 1st Baptist Church, Wonder Boys Club, and West Memphis High School. All eligible voters can vote at any of the open polling locations.

The community is invited to join West Memphis-Marion Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi for A Night of Elegance fundraiser event, Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 at the Eugene Woods Civic Center, 212 West Polk St., West Memphis from 7 p.m. until midnight. Tickets are currently on sale for $50 a person and $300 for a table of eight. Funds raised through the chapter’s Achievement Foundation will support local students with scholarships during their college careers. There will be food for all who attend. There will be no trash collection on Dec. 24 and 25, due to Christmas holidays.

The Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be run in conjunction with regular routes on Thursday, Dec. 26. trash pick-up.

• Civil Air Patrol — Civil Air Patrol meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the ASU Aviation Technical Center, 737 Taxiway Drive, in West Memphis. Young people ages 12 and up can join the cadet program. Adults are needed to support the cadet program and emergency service operations. For more information contact Lt. Col.

• The Crittenden County Museum — Displays on history of Crittenden County in Earle in the former Missouri Pacific Railroad Depot, 1112 Main St. Open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. No admission fee; donations accepted.
