• Special Recognition Program — Members of Step of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 208 S.

8th St., West Memphis, will be hosting a special 12th Pastoral Anniversary recognition program honoring Raymond Shields, Sr., pastor and his queen, Sister Melinda Shields. The event will be Sunday, Dec. 15, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Step of Faith Missionary Baptiost Church. Guest speaker will be Rev. S.L.

Smith of the Greater St.

Mark Christian Church.

The theme will be, “The laborer is worthy of his reward”, from 1 Timothy 5:17. The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. Dinner will be served immediately after services. Mark your calendars for a special Christmas Candlelight Service at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1105 Balfour St., West Memphis. Pastory Bill Oyler said the services will begin at 5 p.m.

• Love and Kindness Service — Greater St.

Mark Christian Church, 208 S. 8th St., West Memphis will be hosting a Love and Kindness service Sunday beginning at 3 p.m. Pastor S. L. Smith will be guest speaker at Step of Faith Ministeries where this celebration will be shown unto pastor Raymond and Melinda Shields. The question was asked, “Is there a word from the Lord?”

and the response was “Yes!” “We will rejoice, sing, pray and lift up the name of Jesus,” Pastor Smith said. “All are cordially welcome to this special service.”

• A Special Invitation — The New Salem Church family, located on South Airport/College Boulevard, is inviting one and all to their Sunday morning services beginning at 11 a.m.

Guest speaker will be Ministry Sharon Witcher, member of the Old St.

Paul M.B. Church, West Memphis, according to Pastor Frederick Anthony. Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. with morning worship services at 11. Then at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday there is bible clas. “We are looking forward to seeing you therm. Come and let us praise ye the Lord together,” Host Pastor Rev. James Reynolds said.

• Family Christmas Service — At West Memphis First United Methodist Church, 215 N. Missouir St., on Sunday, Dec. 22, beginning at 6 p.m., in Deneke Hall. Everyone from the community is invited to this family-friendlt worship service, featuring traditional Christmas carols, scripture readings, and a time to relax and reflect on Jesus’s birth. Light snacks will be provided, and every child will receive a gift.
