‘A Political View’ By Sherry Holliman

It is time to end the act of public political participation, which is causing frustration for some citizens and public officials concerning very important real time political matters.

It is time to enable citizens, politicians and leaders to utilize the connections and resources for their communities and have the collective voices be heard. With all the current conflicts affecting the operation of the government system politicians and their supporters should be eager to pledge that they will seriously take any challenging issues that emerges from the public with respect and without being bias because they are representing a diverse community of all social classes.

A pledge is a serious commitment or promise to act or give something.

Anyone can pledge freely for any purpose.

Pledging for political purposes is a simple reminder for everyone involved in the government system to commit to create better public policies and laws for every voice. If you are serious about having a better quality of life in the new year, consider taking a political pledge to confirm your intentions and commitment.

As an American, you should expect to be heard and spoken to in a respectful tone about political issues. In today’s time there seems to be a lack of applying ethical principles when facing many challenging discussions which could be shared without causing division among the parties.

All this may sound good while reading but if no one tries to change by doing nothing about the political division the political attitudes will never change. Considering these simple rules, might eliminate disrespectful actions. To treat people the way you want to be treated. “Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you or someone you love.”

Politics should be about addressing laws and policies and making sure people of all races and genders are treated fairly according to the law. Not about oppressing people or being an elected narcissist. Voters should expect their elected leaders to commit to keeping their voices first, not take personal views or payoffs concerning political issues.

Candidates should expect financial and moral support from the voters. Taking this pledge together will strengthen the voices but will mostly impact the elect leaders to use their voice to demonstrate the actions of being passionate, considerate, and open minded about challenging political issues publicly. Americans in 2020 should call for dignity, accessibility, transparency, and respect in the political system.

Everyone should want to have an important role to help unite our nation, increase the understanding, and needs necessary to provide the best resources available to the public, regardless of their social economic class or political party. You should not let personal political views divide your commitment to be great leaders or supporters. Take the political pledge regardless of your political party preference to provide opportunities for all Americans of different political views.

Pledging will not limit, take away or give any decision-making power to elected leaders, it is simply a reminder of the political actions that is needed to help strengthen our government system. It simply reminds you “the people” about the powerful position you possess and empowers you to commit to addressing the needs and understand the importance to unite your community, rather than as isolate individuals with competing interests. Allowing yourself to pledge for the sake of being more politically engaged and educated in 2020 will be a step towards making progress with ending division.

Pledge to be politically empowered, to meet your elected representatives, offer financial and moral support to elected officials to campaign. To listen to other concerns without prejudice. To research and understand why politicians are making changes that seem unfair. To attend council meetings. To show respect for others regardless of age, race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation. To VOTE!

To get others to VOTE!

To get people registered to VOTE! Ask someone to pledge with you. Here is your chance to make a real difference.
