know if Cracker Barrel or Colton’s are taking to go orders? (Editor’s Note: According to my sources, both are indeed still taking carry out orders. Fun fact: You can order off the kid’s menu at Colton’s if you’re not very hungry but still want good food. The kid’s steak tips are a great little meal!) These AMI packs the schools sent home are ridiculous! 50 pages! I had to go to Walmart and get printer ink. Sort of defeats the whole purpose doesn’t it? What about the kids who don’t even have a printer? (Editor’s Note: Well, I have it on pretty good authority that those could be picked up, so I guess you could have done that. Also, this was, I believe, the _rst time the AMI packets were employed, so chalk it up to a learning experience. My daughter is in the 8th grade and her packet was pretty comprehensive. My go-to answer to people who don’t have access to the internet or a printer is to use the library, but I don’t think they are open during this coronavirus thing) I want to give a shout out to the people working at Big Star. They are doing their very best to keep shelves stocked. I even got a pack of toilet paper! You don’t get the same level of service at other stores (COUGH WALMART COUGH) so I appreciate what they are doing. (Editor’s Note: Be careful with that COUGH stuff … don’t you know there’s a pandemic going on? But for real though, my wife got a “hot tip” that Tyson and other meat producers were going to shut down production so they’re employees would not be in the same close quarters together, to she went to stock up the freezer, and she found everything she needed at Big Store. We also were able to stock up on other items at Kroger, so I think our local stores are faring pretty well in this crisis. Good job, folks! Stay well!) Dollar Tree has hand sanitizer, but you have to ask for it at the counter. This is the one on Missouri. The one on Broadway has disinfectant spray out now… this in on Wednesday. (Editor’s Note: Add Dollar Tree to the list above then, although they’ll likely be out by the time anyone reads this on Friday) I hope all those who voted for Hilary and run down our president remember who they voted for when those $1000 checks start arriving in the mail. TRUMP 2020!!! (Editor’s Note: Look, I voted against George W. Bush… twice … and I happily accepted those two $300 checks he sent out trying to stop the Great Recession. If Trump wants to give me some cash, I’ll take it. I still won’t vote for him in November, but I appreciate the gesture. On a related note, I would like to take the opportunity to warn the public that when those checks do start going out, be sure to keep an eye on your mailbox, because if you think Amazon porch pirates are bad, just wait until they start putting money in the mail) What are these high school athletes trying to get scholarships supposed to do? So sad. Just play the games with no fans in the stands and live stream/record the games! (Editor’s Note: Yeah, it stinks for all the baseball, softball and track athletes (and whatever I’m not thinking of in terms of spring sports). At least the basketball season was almost completely over (I’m really hoping they _nd a way to play those State Tournament championship games thought. At least with the college athletes, they can get their year of eligibility back, but at the high school level, it’s just literally “game over” for them in all likelihood. And on a sel_sh note, I am super bummed about the suspension of the Major League Baseball season. Baseball is the one pro sport I really pay any attention to, and I was really excited about the 2020 season. I hope they get it all going again soon, but it may be a while before anyone is yelling “play ball” again on any level from tee-ball on up)
