Three facing multiple drug felonies following traffic stop

ralphhardin@gmail.com A trip to West Memphis for a trio from Memphis turned out to be a bad idea after the three were arrested on a litany of drug and other charges. Early Tuesday morning, the three were stopped by police and discovered to be carrying a number of illegal drugs in their vehicle.

Montereo Rivers, 24, of Memphis, Tennessee, was charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, and two counts of possession of a Schedule I/II substance that is not meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver.

Dyeisha Smith, 20, of Memphis, Tennessee, was also arrested in the incident. She is charged with with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, and two counts of possession of a Schedule I/II substance that is not meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver.

Montereus Patton, 24, of Memphis, Tennessee, was the driver of the vehicle. In addition to also being charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, and two counts of possession of a Schedule I/II substance that is not meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver, Patton was cited for driving with a suspended driver's license, driving with no proof of liability insurance, and operating a motor vehicle in unsafe mechanical condition.

The trio were booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center on Tuesday morning. They remain in custody awaiting a bond hearing.
