Marion man struck, killed on highway
Pedestrian attempting to cross I-40 results in fatal collision

A Marion man was struck and killed while attempting to cross Interstate 40 on foot last week.
The collision occurred at 6:43 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, according to Arkansas State Police reports.
The pedestrian, later identified as Tommy F. Stracener, Jr., attempted crossing Interstate 40 at mile marker 277. The 46-year-old man walked south across the interstate and was struck by a westbound 2014 Dodge Ram pick-up truck as he approached the median.
Stracener was transported to Baptist-Crittenden Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The state police reported the weather clear with dry road conditions at the time of the incident.
