West Memphis Police logged the third homicide of the year in the city and quickly closed the case with an arrest. The accused murderer quickly made bond and released from jail.

Corey Tiggs, age 24, was gunned down at the apartment at 1950 North Avalon number 36.

West Memphis Police officers responded to the area in reference to a shots fired call at approximately 6:15 P.M. on Monday, July 20.

Assistant Police Chief Robert Langston detailed events.

'The call was for shots fired after some kind of disturbance,' said Langston. 'Once on scene officers were informed that the victim was taken to Baptist Crittenden by personal vehicle for gun shots wounds. Tiggs was pronounced dead at the hospital.'

Detectives determined the shooter was Andrew Maurice Leflore Jr., 33, of West Memphis.

Investigators obtained warrants for Murder 1st Degree and Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Leflore subsequently turned himself in to the West Memphis Police Department on Tuesday, July 21.

Leflore made the $175,000 bond to bail out of jail the day after being booked.
