Thanksgiving Sanitation Schedule

The City of West Memphis will take Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday off as a holiday. City offices and the sanitation department are off Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27. Garbage and trash collection schedules were modified for Thanksgiving week. The week of Thanksgiving will will pick up garbage cans normally collected on Mondays and Tuesdays will be serviced on Monday the 23rd. Wednesday and Thursday garbage routes move to Tuesday the 24th for collection. Friday customer garbage will be picked up on Wednesday the 25th. Trash debris and yard waste will be collected by ward areas as follows: Ward 1 and 2 on Monday the 23rd, Ward 3 and 4 on Tuesday the 24th, Ward 5 on Wednesday the 25th. Sanitation services will resume their normal schedule on Monday, Nov. 30.

Cornerstone Baptist Church

Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1105 Balfour Rd., West Memphis, is “Making Hope Contagious!” Sunday morning services (10:45 a.m.), Sunday Evening Services (5 p.m.) and Wednesday evening prayer meeting and Bible study (6:30 p.m.) are now held in the sanctuary, (with social distancing). Sunday School is back at 9:30 a.m. Cornerstone is providing the safest environment possible for our children, youth, and adults.

National Sultana Disaster Museum

Open Thursday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at 104 Washington St. across from the county court house. Donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Civil Air Patrol

Civil Air Patrol meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the ASU Aviation Technical Center, 737 Taxiway Drive, in West Memphis. Young people ages 12 and up can join the cadet program. Adults are needed to support the cadet program and emergency service operations. For more information contact Lt. Col. Old St. Paul Services

Old St. Paul M.B. Church is continuing its online-only worship services live streaming on Facebook. Sunday school at 8:45 a.m., and church services at 10 a.m. Wednesday Bible Study at 6:30 p.m. Facebook Live@oldstpaul church. Host pastor is Frederick S. Anthony, “We are a church that grows people and glorifies God.”

Steudlein Food Program

The Frank C. Steudlein Learning Center is participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. This program will provide meals to all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals are provided at 207 Balfour Rd., and at 1600 Avondale Circle, in West Memphis, Arkansas. The program will provide breakfast, lunch and a p.m. snack, Monday through Friday during the programming year.
