Slate of charges for juvenile after theft, short chase

news@theeveningtimes.com Leaving your vehicle running during a short trip into the convenience store is just the opportunity a would-be car thief looks for. A juvenile did just that, steeling a car from the Flash Market and Subway store at the East Service road in Marion on Thursday.

The unidentified youth faced Fleeing charges and two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer after a chase down the service road and back up Interstate 55.

Marion Police saw the stolen Chrysler sedan right after it was reported gone.

West Memphis Police came alongside to help with a box maneuver near AFCO Road to stop the car which did not work. The juvenile drove onto northbound Interstate 55 and police Tboned the car to stop it at Mile Marker 10 off ramp, just about where the whole incident started.
