Man wounded in violent incident, suspect sought

news@theeveningtimes.com West Memphis Police continued seeking a shooter in the city after a van argument escalated into gunplay. On Feb. 22, patrol officers responded to the area of South Tenth Street and Polk Avenue in reference to shots being fired.

Officers found a wounded victim in front of a residence bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police Captain Try Galtelli said the victim was transported by ambulance to Regional One Hospital, treated and released.

Despite eyewitnesses accounts of the incident, investigators sought the shooter.

'From speaking with witnesses, the incident began as a verbal altercation that turned violent after the suspect brandished a firearm and shot the victim,' said Galtelli. 'The suspect then fled the area according to witnesses.'
