Trash Talk

Share

As partt of the city’s ongoing effort to clean up the community, the City of West Memphis took to social media to spread awareness about keeping trash off of city streets. “We need your help! Broken bottles, cigarette butts, styrofoam cups, and paper litter many parts of our city. Unfortunately, littering is more than just a city-wide problem but a worldwide one. Littered areas do not attract visitors, businesses, or developers to our city. You can help, by holding onto your trash until you can dispose of it properly. It s that easy! Reducing litter is everyone s job. The city is doing its part, dispatching a litter crew to targeted public areas and main thoroughfares throughout West Memphis last week. Code Enforcement officers will also be out enforcing existing litter laws on littering (pictured). You can help report litterers, call the city s Public Works Department at 870-732-7671.
