Be on the lookout for porch pirates. Amazon and UPS packages are disappearing from door steps already.

[ Editor’s Note: I hate a thief, especially when it’s my stuff, and even more especially when it’s something I bought for someone as a Christmas gift. A couple of years ago, I saw a suggestion for how to deal with porch pirates: Every time you empty/ change your cat’s litter box, dump it in an old Amazon box.

When it fills up, set it on the porch and give the would- be thief a special holiday surprise!]
