*** Well, it looks like someone finally decided to stand up to the mayor and say NO to

Why does the city bother putting out a HOLIDAY trash schedule when they can’t even get the TRASH picked up on a regular schedule??? Maybe I’ll get my garbage picked up by CHRISTMAS! [ Editor’s Note: Ah, it wouldn’t be a holiday without someone complaining about teh trash service. Is that still a problem? I was under the undesrstanding that the sanitation services in West Memphis had improved dramatically. I’m assuming you’re talking about West Memphis since I’ve not heard of trash collection being an issue in any other local communities. I live in Marion so I can’t speak to it on a personal level but if you’re still having issues, maybe contact your city council representative. If you’re still looking to air some grievances this time next month, remember Festivus is right around the corner!]

higher taxes for his little pet projects! Sure it would be nice to have something like a water slide or a ferris wheel or whatever but we already pay the highest taxes around. How about we use some of that casino money for these projects?

[ Editor’s Note: Well, that’s a great idea, but that “ casino money” is already footing the bill for a bunch of other stuff. The best plan would be to get all of that stuff paid off and then let the money build up for a few years and then just pay for it up front without the need for higher taxes. Of course, that is all dependent upon the mayor getting re- elected and we’ll have to wait until next November to see how the community feels about that idea. I personally think he’s safe, but you never know what might happen between now and then or who might run against him]

*** What has happened to the West Memphis sports program? Is it the players?

The coaches? Way downhill!

heard this grumbling before but I think it’s just a down cycle for football.
